Boston is where the USA began. Urban center of the region called
New England, this is the country’s most international city. Rich
in history, with an impressive architectural heritage, Boston is
also where the computer and biotech revolutions began and where
academic life is most heavily concentrated. Harvard, the
nation’s oldest and most famous university, is here. So are some
sixty other colleges and universities, including MIT
(Massachusetts Institute of Technology), one of America’s
leading centers of science and engineering. Altogether these
institutions draw hundreds of thousands of students to Boston.
They generate the youthful, forward-looking energy the city is
celebrated for.
Very few cities in the United States can offer a blend of
colonial charm, urbane sophistication, and such a
perfect mix of American and European tradition. Learn English in Boston and prepare your US university career from here.
|
|
Afternoon excursions will take you to Cambridge where Harvard
and MIT are located and to Faneuil Hall Marketplace (the
country’s number one tourist destination), the Freedom Trail,
the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Science, and sports
events of all kinds. Outside the city, the countryside is
inviting in all seasons.
Sun seekers praise the sandy Atlantic beaches stretching
south to the dunes of Cape Cod and north along the New Hampshire
shore to the picturesque coast of Maine. Skiers rave about the
facilities, dependable snow cover, and beautifully groomed
trails of the region’s numerous mountain resorts. And nature
lovers from all over the country visit the Berkshire Hills in
western Massachusetts each autumn for the brilliantly colorful
foliage.
