OUR
SOCIAL PROJECT
Volunteer Opportunities |
| Students at "La
Unión" Centro de Lenguas who are in Antigua for
an extended period of time can be assistants or obtain positions
as teachers in local schools. Those here for a shorter time
can visit hospital patients, spend time with elderly people
in local rest homes, or play with children in nearby orphanages.
There are also opportunities to work with handicapped people.
We can help you find a social project where you will practice
your Spanish and you will help Guatemalan people. |

As
part of the school, we have founded "La Unión con
Los Niños de Guatemala", a day care center for the
sons and daughters of single Guatemalan mothers. We facilitate
the education of the children, as well as providing them with
meals, thus allowing the mothers the opportunity to find a job
and giving a better life to their children. |
| The school is financing
this social project with 50% of our income. Obviously, the needs
are greater so we are looking for VOLUNTEERS
(teachers, cooks, baby-sitters, nurses/doctors, or any one who
loves kids), as well as donations of clothing for adults and
children, study materials, medicines, and money, or whatever
you can help us with. All donations will be greatly appreciated
and put to good use. With your help, we can make a tremendous
difference and change many lives. |
