Flamenco Guitar Teachers |
|
FRAN CORTÉS:
Fran Cortés was born 23 years ago in Seville. From
early on he decided to devote himself to the guitar as
interpreter and composer, and took classes with maestros such as
Rafael Mendiola, Rafael Riqueni and Juan Manuel
Cañizares.
With his sensitive playing full of compás he has accompanied the
voices of such greats as Chiquetete, Juanito Villar and
Pepe de Lucía, as well as the creative dance of renowned
artists as María Pagés and Manuel Corrales “El
Mimbre”.More recently,
his participation as guitarist and composer in Chiquetete’s
most recent recording “Andaluz” is noteworthy. |

MANUEL PÉREZ HURTADO:
In 1996, he forms part of Cristina Hoyos Company ,
performing for the first time Arsa y Toma. In 1997, he
combines his work at Cristina Hoyos´ with several
collaborations with the Compañía Andaluza., under María
Pagés direction.
In 1998, Manuel participates in Al compás del tiempo premier
by Cristina Hoyos and also cooperates in T.V together with
Fernando Romero, Isabel Bayón and Rosario Toledo.
In 1999 he is part of Javier Latorre Company, introducing
Ambivalencia flamenco show and one year later he performs
for the first time and within La Bienal de Sevilla,
Bachdaliana by Fernando Romero.

In the year 2001 he performs Pura Intención in
the Gran Teatro de Córdoba under Javier Latorre direction and
the following year , in La Bienal de Sevilla again, he plays in
Del Alma, conducted by Isabel Bayón.
As a teacher, he combines his innate talent
for flamenco music, his knowledge and his patience when teaching. |

JUAN
JOSÉ SOCORRO:
A solid young flamenco guitarist, Juan began his guitar
studies at the age of fourteen, alternating, almost from the
start with another classical instrument, the cello. Ever since
then he has been continuing to form and improve his guitar
technique with guitarists such as Antonio Carmona, Manolo
Franco or José Luis Postigo.
He has had ample experience as guitar teacher, having given
classes for the association Flamenco de Paris (France),
and the Patio de la Jabonería in his hometown of Ayamonte.

DANI JURADO:
Flamenco guitarist from Sevilla, a musician who has known
how to combine both composition and harmony to flamenco. He
knows all flamenco guitar branches, accompanying both singers
and dancers.
He has also a huge experience as a
musician and flamenco guitarist in first level companies and,
as a teacher, perfectly adapts his knowledge to every
student. .

MANUEL BERRAQUERO:
After
studying at Seville’s Conservatorio Superior de Música, he
devoted five years to studying Dance Accompaniment at
Matilde Coral and Rafael el Negro’s dance
school.
He has accompanied and recorded records with artists the
likes of El Pali, María del Monte, Juanito
Valderrama, El Mistela, Paco Toronjo, El
Cabrero...combining his work as professional musician
with teaching flamenco guitar not only in Spain, but abroad as
well. His musical contribution to various TV, radio and cinema
ads is also noteworthy.
Since 1988 and up to the present, he has been a member of
the Compañía de Teatro “La Cuadra de Sevilla”
with whom he has performed in the best theaters in more than
forty different countries throughout the world. |

DAVID
VARGAS:
The talented young guitarist from
Seville, David Vargas, has a solid academic base - he holds
degrees in classic guitar, solfeggio and choral singing, and has
also taken flamenco guitar courses with maestros such as
Rafael Riqueni and Manolo Franco.
To this academic base must be added his solid experience
accompanying flamenco dancing and singing in many different
groups, in tablaos, and at festivals throughout Spain.
David Vargas has been finalist in the Bienal de Arte
Flamenco de Sevilla contest and in the National
Contest of Las Minas. |

OSCAR LAGO
Young guitarist and composer follower of Rafael Abujas, Rafael
Porras and Andrés Mártinez.
He
gets into Inmigración after exploring every expression of
flamenco, playing for cante, dancing and as a solo performer. He
regularly accompanies artist such as Adrián Galia, María
Serrano, Miguel Poveda, Javier Latorre, Sergio Monroy, Ramón
Martínez or Ángeles Gabaldón.
Main Performances and works:
1995 Compañía de
Danza Folclórica y Flamenca ANDALUCIA 2.
He
tours Spain for three years. He performs in UNESCO`s
headquarters in Paris.
1998 Accompanies the pianist Sergio Monroy in his flamenco show
“Sonidos Negros”
1999 He plays for three months in the tablao “El Cortijo” in
Germany.
1999 Composes the music for the flamenco group Sunkay.
2000 He works in the tablao “El Cordobés” in Barcelona.
2001 He tours several countries in Europe with Maria Serrano’s
flamenco company. 2002 Accompanies the cantaor Miguel Poveda.
2002 He works at the tablao “El Flamenco” in Tokio.
2002 Composes the music for Adrián Galia’s Company
2003 He plays in Javier Latorre’s Company in the show “Rinconete
y Cortadillo”
2003 Produces the record “Monroy” together with Keko Baldomero
and Sergio Monroy. |
